You're right. Privacy is an issue on Facebook. But I guess you just have to have it with the maximum privacy (you can choose who you want to have access to it). Besides, every time I get invitations from people I don't know I just don't accept them. I actually use Facebook only to get in touch with the people I know, not to meet new friends...
